Just as good oral health is vital to general health and wellbeing poor oral health in causes pain, irritability, infections, poor sleep patterns, restlessness and poor nutrition. In children and young babies early signs of dental decay can be easily identified as dental decay usually starts in the enamel (outer surface) of the top front teeth

All health practitioners are encouraged to perform an early “lift the lip” screening in children (age 5 months to 6 years) for early childhood tooth decay, which involves simply lifting the top lip and checking the outer surfaces of the top front teeth.

We provide comprehensive dental treatment for infants, children and adolescents, including those with complex medical histories and special needs affected by dental decay. Additionally, we are also able to provide surgical treatment for lingual ankyloglossia (tongue tie release) in newborns with feeding concerns or in children with speech or functional problems.

Please contact us on (07) 5370 8079 if you would like to refer a newborn or infant with ankyloglossia or discuss any immediate concerns to ensure timely management.

For all other referrals, please advise parents to contact our office for an appointment.
